The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading all engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects, supporting the execution of the company’s maintenance and engineering strategies. This includes facility modernization, process optimization, reliability improvements, and capacity expansion initiatives. This role may also provide engineering support to external manufacturing operations as needed. This position plays a key role in executing capital and expense projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the achievement of corporate strategic goals. The Engineering Manager is also a technical resource for troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and capability building within the operations and maintenance teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a dynamic portfolio of capital and expense projects from concept through execution and commissioning.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans aligned with business priorities.
- Execute assigned commercialization initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for all projects.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to all plant safety and food safety rules.
- Maintain clear, organized project documentation including equipment specifications, manuals, and records.
- Develop and deliver training programs, SOPs, and preventative maintenance procedures for new equipment and processes.
- Support the development of short- and long-range capital plans aligned with facility and corporate goals.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to the maintenance team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and reliability excellence.
- Identify performance gaps and implement technical solutions to enhance equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Support plant transformation and start-up initiatives where applicable.
Requirements :
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).Proven experience in plant or project engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food or beverage.Experience with maintenance systems, reliability engineering, and capital project management.Demonstrated success managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.Experience in facility transformation or start-up environments is highly desirable.Skills & Attributes
