About The Position

Experience : 2 years of CVICU experience required

License : Compact or state license required at time of submission

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred

Must-Have :

• Applicants must have 2 years of CVICU experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• CCRN certification is preferred.
• Candidates with ECMO experience are preferred.

Description :

The position requires a registered nurse with a specialty in cardiovascular intensive care.

Successful candidates will have experience managing complex patients, including those with heart and lung transplants.

Nurses will be responsible for the care of critically ill patients, monitoring patient status, and providing nursing interventions as needed.

Candidates should possess skills in arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and central line care.

Nurses will be expected to manage continuous IV sedation, monitor pulmonary artery lines, and titrate cardiac drips.

Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of intra-aortic balloon pumps will also be part of the role.

Support services within the unit include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Daily census averages around 44 patients with various cardiovascular conditions.

Candidates should be prepared to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.

The role demands strong teamwork and collaboration within an interdisciplinary environment.
