Engineering Associate / Field Engineer

Description

Self-directed field engineer or technician, working as part of a larger team, responsible for completing residential and commercial framing and load-bearing analysis inspections for residential structures, as well as foundation inspections.

Prepares and / or reviews subsequent engineering reports. Provides excellent customer service and maintains positive client relationships. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual foundation inspections, including :
• Record visual damage notes and other structural characteristics
• Prepare to-scale diagrams of structures and other field measurements
• Evaluate terrain and drainage features surrounding structures
• Interview homeowners as needed
• Crawl and inspect attics or crawlspaces to identify issues
• Verify work completion for post-construction inspections
• Evaluate repairs according to local construction codes (if necessary)
• Answer property owner questions thoroughly and politely
