Certifications : BLS and ACLS required; Board Certification preferred. Experience : Minimum 5 years of inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience (not retail or ambulatory). Preferred : Completion of an acute care residency or hospital experience in facilities with 400+ beds . Proficient in Allscripts EMR and Carousel medication dispensing systems . Skills : IV preparation, sterile compounding, pain control, antibiotic dosing, pharmacokinetics, and code response support. Trusted community hospital with a strong focus on clinical excellence. 📅 Start Date : November 3, 2025
💼 Assignment Duration : 26 Weeks
💵 Pay Rate : $55 $72 per hour (based on experience)
PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. This role is ideal for pharmacists with strong inpatient or acute care experience who excel in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Verify, compound, and dispense medications in compliance with physician orders and hospital policy.
- Manage dosing, monitoring, and adjustments for diverse patient populations (cardiac, renal, geriatric, pediatric).
- Perform pharmacokinetic and therapeutic drug monitoring, including antibiotics, anticoagulants, and high-alert medications.
- Ensure accuracy in sterile IV compounding and maintain compliance with aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, providers, and the clinical team to ensure optimal overnight patient care.
