Job Description

Status : Full-time | On-site, Monday through Friday in Tulsa, OK

Overview

This is a hands-on underwriting role focused on evaluating personal lines risks, delivering accurate pricing, and supporting a trusted network of agents across Oklahoma. You’ll work within a collaborative team that values sound judgment, clear communication, and efficiency in every step of the underwriting process.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate new and renewal insurance applications for completeness, accuracy, and eligibility under company guidelines
Analyze risk profiles, loss history, and supporting documentation to determine coverage terms, pricing, and acceptability
Prepare and issue quotes, reports, and policy documentation for agents and insureds
Maintain compliance with state Department of Insurance regulations and company standards
Manage renewals, endorsements, and mid-term policy changes to ensure data accuracy and proper coverage
Build and maintain positive working relationships with agency partners through responsive service and clear communication
Provide guidance and support to internal teammates, escalating complex issues as needed
Identify and communicate process improvements that enhance underwriting efficiency and profitability
Back up fellow team members during absences to maintain workflow continuity

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred

Active Property & Casualty license required

1–3 years of underwriting experience preferred (personal lines or similar)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability

Solid understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and best practices

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively with agents and colleagues

High level of organization, accuracy, and follow-through

Professional, dependable, and team-oriented demeanor
