Job Title

The position supports the Utah Behavioral Health Commission and its committees. Typical tasks include : policy research, analysis, and creation; development and implementation of program policies and procedures; evaluation of program effectiveness; administrative support for meetings; project management; meeting facilitation; and coordination across public and private agencies and stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will have : a Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Health Policy and Management, or equivalent degree or professional experience; experience with researching and analyzing policy; experience with interpreting and writing, laws, codes, rules, and / or policies; strong oral and written communication skills; knowledge of public behavioral health systems; and project management skills and experience.

Responsibilities include : researching and analyzing behavioral health policies; evaluating programs, processes, and practices for quality and effectiveness; coordinating and implementing policy and procedure changes; providing project management support to The Commission and its committees, and subcommittees; providing administrative support for stakeholder meetings; interpreting, clarifying, explaining, and applying agency policy and procedures and federal and state laws and regulations; collaborating with public and private state and local programs, organizations and agencies, and with various stakeholders to promote program goals and objectives; facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholders; tracking related policy and laws; and writing and presenting policy reports, evaluations, workplans, and other policy-related materials.

Supplemental information includes : risks found in the typical office setting; the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work; effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to Utah within 30 days of their start date; this position may currently be a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days.
