Job Title : Motion Paralegal – Onsite
Location : Long Island, New York
Job Type : Temp-to-Hire (3–6 Month Contract)
Pay Rate : $28+ / hour (based on experience)
Job Description :
As a Motion Paralegal, you will be responsible for investigating and researching complex legal matters and preparing legal documents in accordance with attorney instructions. You will play a key role in supporting litigation efforts and ensuring timely and accurate document preparation and filing.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft and serve legal documents including motions, cross-motions, responses, subpoenas, and discovery responses
- Enter and maintain data in the legal computer system
- Prepare exhibits and assemble legal packets for trial, arbitration, and hearings
- Edit and format legal forms and documents
- Coordinate with court clerks and legal personnel
- Review case files to ensure discovery is complete post-Note of Issue
- Assist with special projects and legal research as needed
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external legal entities
Qualifications :
Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience as a No-Fault ParalegalStrong knowledge of legal terminology and litigation processesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsParalegal Certificate or equivalent experience as a No-Fault Paralegal.Proficiency in discovery processes and civil litigation.Strong knowledge of trial preparation procedures and legal documentation.Experience using case management software effectively.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to analyze legal documents and reports with attention to detail.Prior experience in drafting motions and responding to discovery demands.Familiarity with coordinating and communicating with court clerks and personnel.
