Welding & Automation Specialist - Mid-South
Airgas is hiring for a Welding & Automation Specialist in Birmingham, AL or Memphis, TN.
Overview
Location : Birmingham, AL (RDA) or Olive Branch, MS; Travel up to 50%. The incumbent reports to the District Manager and is responsible for growing rental, lease and sales of Red D Arc Specialty Products, including sub-arc systems, positioners, manipulators, turning rolls, orbital and heat treating equipment, blasting products and related welding equipment in the Mid-South Region. The candidate will coach customers in self-performing heat treating and orbital welding, work with end-user customers and support the field sales team, and develop and expand sales channels.
Responsibilities
- Grow rental, lease and sales of Red D Arc Specialty Products and related welding equipment.
- Follow up on sales leads, present professionally, prepare quotes, and produce conceptual Hard Automation application drawings.
- Expand Weld Automation sales channels and develop new channels (e.g., growing lines, cladding systems, hard automation work cell integration).
- Provide application recommendations for Weld Automation product lines.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships, coaching end users from novice to independent self-performers in orbital welding and heat treating.
- Train RDA field sales teams and Airgas Adv. Fab Specialists to understand capabilities and grow PMT sales.
- Initiate and grow relationships with Red-D-Arc Sales Leaders to grow Weld Automation Sales within each district.
- Coordinate and perform onsite equipment set up and demonstrations; work as part of a team to provide customer solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service; represent the company at trade association meetings and trade shows.
- Cold-call and compile lists of potential customers and leads.
- Maintain accurate and timely reports, including business plans and regional forecasts.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Travel required : 50%.
Qualifications (Are you a MATCH?)
Post-secondary education equivalent to an Associate degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.Greater than five years of sales experience in Weld Process Sales.Strong background in all welding processes with emphasis on automation and SAW.Certifications such as CWI, CWE, CRAW, CWS, NCCER instructor, etc. are a plus.Ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively, and persist in the face of obstacles.Adaptive to set and prioritize work with varying requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work independently or in a team.Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and creatively solve problems.Strong technical knowledge with interpersonal and management skills; customer-service oriented with proactive communication.Benefits
