We are actively recruiting for an EHS Field Specialist.

Location

Lake Mathews

Work Schedule

4 / 10 (Mon-Thurs) with every Friday off

Pay

$47 / hr. to $50 / hr.

The selected candidate will utilize their Construction Safety Specialist skills to conduct site-specific safety compliance assessments, risk assessments, and inspections, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations on construction sites. Key duties include evaluating potential hazards, recommending corrective actions, developing safety policies, and maintaining safety records to foster a safe working environment for all personnel.

  • Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment : Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, unsafe practices, defective equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all site activities and operations comply with federal (OSHA), state, ana local safety regulations and best practices.
  • Safety Program Implementation : Understand and implement the provisions of site-specific safety programs, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Documentation & Reporting : Prepare and maintain safety-related documentation, records, and detailed written reports of site visits, findings, and incident investigations.
  • Communication : Act as a safety liaison and communicator to management and workers, promoting safety culture and providing technical advice on safety initiatives.
  • Technical Knowledge : Broad understanding of OSHA regulations, safety compliance programs, hazard identification, fall protection systems, and other construction safety best practices.
  • Soft Skills : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to build relationships and enforce safety standards.
  • Experience : Relevant experience in construction safety, often with a background in trades or skilled construction.
  • Certifications : OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification is often required, with competent person certifications (e.g., for fall protection) being a plus.
  • Site Adaptability : Ability to work in a dynamic construction environment, access all areas of a site, and operate in various weather conditions.
  • Required Knowledge of : Technical aspects of environmental / occupational health and safety regulations and programs as they apply to industrial facilities and water treatment and distribution operations.
  • Required Skills and Abilities to : Understand and follow oral and written instructions; apply knowledge of environmental, health and safety requirements to field operations; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Communication

Technical Knowledge

Desires Experience Below :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or four years’ experience in an applicable MWD classification in a related field (effective through June 2015).
  • Valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment Certificate for power / powder actuated tools.
  • 5+ Years Construction Industry Safety
  • 5+ Years Construction Commercial & Residential experience
  • 5+ Years Safety Cal Osha Knowledge
  • Defensive Driver

  • Commuting - Daily sites visit (travel 100-200 miles – potential overnight)
