Deputy Project Leader
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deputy Project Leader to join our team in Manassas, VA. Responsibilities of the Deputy Project Leader include :
- Lead design and deployment of integrated infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
- Implement procedures and controls to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Support project documentation, layout, and field office coordination with Superintendents and Engineering.
- Manage subcontractors within M.C. Dean's installation scope.
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules using MS Project.
- Coordinate and lead PKOM and KPR project meetings.
- Forecast manpower and cash flow needs.
- Assist in budget development and manpower allocation for foreman-level tracking.
- Prepare submittals, change orders, and project estimates.
- Create design / build estimates based on design criteria.
- Present proposals and cost estimates to customers.
- Interpret plans and contract terms for staff and clients.
- Resolve construction issues with supervisory personnel, owners, and design teams.
- Coordinate material acquisition and monitor tool / equipment needs.
- Oversee financial management and ensure project profitability.
- Ensure timely project completion including punch-list, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
- Complete all training and administrative contract requirements.
- Monitor budgets for positive cash flow and profitability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement best practices.
Qualifications for the Deputy Project Leader include :
7+ years of experience in telecommunications / security systems construction with a Bachelor's in Engineering, IT, or Construction Management.5+ years of related experience with a Master's in Construction Management or Engineering.Proficiency in CPM scheduling and general contractor schedules.Experience leading diverse teams and projects with budgets from $500K to $10M+.4+ years of experience in complex markets (Federal Aviation, Government Airports, Higher Ed, Transit Systems).Knowledge of low-voltage construction functions including self-perform contracting and field coordination.Software proficiency : Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Accubid, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Excel.Must have the ability to obtain TS / SCI w / Polygraph security clearance.Compensation for the Deputy Project Leader includes :
