Position : LEAD PLC Controls Engineer : We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PLC Controls Engineer to lead the development, testing, and validation of process control systems for our cutting-edge clean energy technology. This role involves programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLC-based systems and validating performance through pilot plant testing.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define automation and control requirements for chemical processes and testing facilities.
- Design and maintain Siemens S7-1500 PLC-based control systems that meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain ICC lists, PLC IO mapping, and control system requirements documentation.
- Program BPCS and SIS using SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional V19 and STEP 7 Safety Advanced V19.
- Simulate PLC programs using PLCSim Advanced and develop HMI using WinCC OA.
- Operate and maintain BPCS and SIS systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors.
- Manage SCADA system hardware / software, including data historian, firewalls, and network components.
- Collaborate with electrical, chemical, and test engineering teams on system testing and commissioning.
- Support automation solutions for demonstration units, pilot systems, and future product generations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).8+ years of Siemens PLC programming experience using IEC 61131-3 standards.5+ years of HMI development and SCADA network management experience.Proficiency in PLC simulation, communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, J1939, PROFINET, OPC UA, MQTT), and interpreting PCIDs and schematics.Experience with process control hardware (sensors, actuators, VFDs, etc.).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of Siemens PLC programming experience.8+ years in redundant BPCS / SIS and SCADA network architecture.5+ years of HMI development using WinCC OA and cloud-based remote monitoring.Experience in commissioning large-scale chemical facilities.Proficiency in control algorithm development using Simulink, MATLAB Coder, and related tools.Solid understanding of control theory (linear, nonlinear, multivariable).Experience with closed-loop control systems (PID, cascade).EIT certification or Certified Controls Engineer credential.J-18808-Ljbffr
