Job Summary
The Plant Superintendent's position is responsible for managing an asphalt plant. The plant superintendent will be providing direction to staff, as well as leadership and management for all departments. The position's top responsibilities are safety, environmental compliance, efficient production, proactive maintenance, and healthy financial management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follows and communicates all company policies and safety proceduresEnsures that environmental best practices are implementedMaintains a high housekeeping standardContinuously improves and challenges the plant processes for efficiency gains, embracing lean methodologiesBalances and plans scheduled preventive / predictive maintenance on the plant and necessary production to optimize performancePlan and execute annual maintenance outagesManage finish goods inventory for accuracyCommunicate with Sales and Quality Control Department on upcoming projects and issuesWorks with multiple Corporate functions to improve plant process and businessPlans and holds safety and general meetingsReview monthly financial reports with detailed information on spendingAssists area manager with capital needs and develops requests for future capitalJob Requirements and Education
Over 18 years of ageEligible to work in the United StatesValid driver's license and reliable transportationComplete and pass pre-employment testing, including a drug screen and physicalCollege degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum of five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical proceduresAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general publicAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, total cost, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, total quantities and volumeAbility to apply concepts of basic math, trigonometry and geometryAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesAbility to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional mannerPhysical Aspects
