Job Title : Quality Assurance Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for the 2nd shift. In this role, you will implement and manage food safety programs, train others on food safety standards, and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Your primary duties will include inspecting shipments, reconciling labels, and reviewing quality-related documents. You will also assist in planning and developing quality assurance programs and respond to customer requests.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the food safety program.
  • Train staff on food safety standards and ISO standards.
  • Inspect shipments, reconcile labels, and review finished product documentation.
  • Review and approve / reject various quality-related documents.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing quality assurance programs.
  • Respond to customer requests and investigate complaints.
  • Complete paperwork for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in changing and maintaining ISO and cGMP paperwork.
  • Ensure quality requirements of all departments are documented.
  • Interpret, understand, and manage technical information.
  • Prepare technical and special presentations / reports.
  • Compile statistical analysis of quality assurance data.
  • Oversee the writing and maintaining of process manuals.
  • Coordinate and perform quality assurance system internal audits.
  • Investigate non-conformances and determine root cause analyses.
  • Review current policies and document areas needing quality improvements.
  • Compile lab results and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Work with QC department and pilot plant.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma with food safety implementation experience; Bachelor's Degree in Science or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in QA and GMP environment if no Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of the 7 tools of quality.
  • Experience implementing food safety program in a manufacturing setting.
  • ISO 9001 certification and SQF knowledge.
  • Ability to perform quality-based RCA with CAPA completion.
  • Experience with chemistry testing and results.
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite, Visio process mapping, ETQ software, and SAP.
  • 1-2+ years applicable experience.
  • Previous GMP experience.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Competency in documentation review and data entry.
  • Experience with quality assurance documentation and control.
  • Experience with batch record review and document control.
  • Experience in biochemistry, inspection, chemistry, biology, and food quality.
  • Work Environment

    The work environment is fast-paced and super clean, adhering to FDA regulations. The facility includes a 65,000 sq. ft. manufacturing space with diverse areas for excipient processing, repackaging, warehousing, offices, and quality control. The role involves working mostly in front of a computer, with occasional tasks on the manufacturing floor. The work schedule is the 2nd shift from 2 : 00 PM to 10 : 30 PM.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
