Overview

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking experienced Electrical Designers to join our team. The role supports projects across North America with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative electrical designs that meet client expectations and Kiewit's standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes
• Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data
• Report project progression updates and / or issues to project lead team
• Coordinate with project team using the Project Database : Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions
• Develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills
• Check and navigate 3D models for interferences and constructability
• Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule
• Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs
• Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits, cable tray systems, and pull boxes according to NEC
• Perform layout of electrical equipment
• Properly size cables and raceways
• Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met
• Create plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables
• Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking
• Resolve checked drawings; provide and understand comments made
• Act as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues
• Comply with company standards to produce quality deliverables
• Report task progress to Lead Designer
