About The Role :

As a Project Engineer, you will provide mid-level engineering / technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) overhead utility systems.

Specifically, the position prepares, reviews and / or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan / profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor / subcontractor coordination and construction support.

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Develop and approve PLS-CADD Criteria
  • Finalize PLS-CADD models
  • Schedule project tasks for project support team
  • Attend client stakeholder meetings
  • Complete design review meetings with the client
  • Provide input on special design questions
  • Attend internal design review meetings

What You Bring :

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred)
  • 4+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
  • Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines (required)
  • Experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI
  • Experience with liaising substation, transmission, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in the application of engineering theories and principles
  • Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
  • Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline- driven work environment
  • Strong ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy
