About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Critical Care

Profession : Nursing

Shift : 12hr Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum 3 years of ICU experience; preference for CRRT experience.

License : RN License required.

Certifications : Required - BLS, ACLS; Preferred - NIHSS.

Must-Have : General ICU experience : Vent / trach management, invasive line management, drains / tube management, foley management, chest tubes, post-surgical recovery, post cath experience, fresh heart experience (preferred), CVVH, Balloon Pumps, CRRT.

Description :

This position is within a Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU and is also a Primary Stroke Center.

The facility has a total of 136 beds and accommodates a diverse patient population.

Patient types include COVID, sepsis, substance abuse, delirium, gastrointestinal bleeding, and stroke patients requiring TPA.

Surgical patients consist of general, orthopedic, ENT, and obstetric cases.

Cardiac and vascular patients may include those recovering from surgeries such as CABG and valve replacements.

No complex neuro cases will be involved.

Adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, including N95 masks and PAPRs.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 2 based on acuity.

Support on the unit includes a charge nurse, unit secretary, intensivist, ICU-specific pharmacist, respiratory therapist, and a phlebotomy team.

The charting system used is EPIC, along with Alaris and Pyxis equipment.

Travelers will float to intermediate units and will float first if necessary.

Weekend rotations are required every other weekend.

No on-call shifts are included.

Scrub color is flexible; however, camo, denim, and hoodies are not permitted.

More than two sick calls will prompt a discussion regarding the contract.
