About the role
The Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting customer equipment installations, repairs, and service projects. This role ensures work is completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams. The technician will also handle administrative tasks, technical support, and training as required.
What you'll do
- Perform equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs in the field.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, and vendors to manage equipment delivery, subcontractor activities, and job timelines.
- Create, update, and monitor project schedules, tracking milestone progress and critical deadlines when needed.
- Provide installation manuals, review project deliverables, and resolve issues with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain consistent daily communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, follow-up, and issue resolution.
- Support sales opportunities by identifying potential new equipment or system upgrades during site visits.
- Participate in customer and dealer meetings, providing technical expertise both onsite and remotely.
- Deliver training to customers, dealers, and fellow Field Service Technicians on equipment operation and maintenance ask needed.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in proper working condition.
- Assist in configuring and programming control systems for new installations and updates.
- Provide technical support to customers and sales teams for pre-sales and post-sales activities.
- Review quotes and sales orders to ensure proper component selection for control system installations.
- Provide remote and on-site installation support for newly installed systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues, identifying root causes of failures.
- Perform remote maintenance, including firmware updates and system optimizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project support operations.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a similar role or combination of associate degree and 5 or more years' experience in servicing diagnostic equipmentFamiliarity with VFD's and electrical equipment is a plusExperience working with internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service processProven ability to provide effective trainingWilling to travel up to 40%Ability to lift up to 75 lbValid Driver's license is requiredPI0c721f7fe0fa-30511-38668841
