Stantec is seeking a motivated and skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of transportation and infrastructure projects through the implementation of sustainable drainage solutions. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drainage analysis and design for transportation projects.
  • Perform hydrologic tasks such as drainage basin delineation, processing topography, soils, and land-use data, and conducting hydrologic analyses using methods like Rational Method, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and stream gage analysis.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling using tools like HEC-RAS and SRH-2D for bridges, culverts, and open channels.
  • Design storm sewer systems, roadside ditches, erosion countermeasures, and water quality BMPs.
  • Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and stormwater management plans.
  • Ensure compliance with FEMA floodplain regulations, including CLOMR / LOMR submittals.
  • Utilize Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MicroStation / Open Roads for data collection and transformation.
  • Convert coordinate systems and projections to support design and analysis.
  • Support business development by preparing proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and participating in client presentations.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.
  • Skilled in software such as HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, HY-8, ArcGIS, and SRH-2D.
  • Familiarity with FEMA regulations and floodplain management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with technical report writing expertise.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in transportation drainage design is a plus.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain it within six months.

  • Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 102,100.00 - Max Salary $ 153,200.00
  • Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 112,300.00 - Max Salary $ 168,500.00
  • The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
