Assistant Store Manager
Join a team of Virginia's Top Shelf Talent! The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is currently seeking applicants for the Assistant Store Manager role.
Areas of Responsibility :
- Assisting Store Manager with monitoring customer service of store staff
- Assisting Store Manager with investigating and resolving customer complaints
- Ensuring compliance with all ABC policies involved in checking IDs
- Applying merchandising techniques
- Accounting for store funds
- Managing inventory levels
- Assisting store manager with training staff on store products, proper customer service skills and sales techniques
- Assisting with establishing procedures that comply with store policies and appropriate laws
- Supervising staff and assisting with promoting employee development in the absence of the store manager
- Available to work with limited or no notice
- Work various shifts and weekly work schedules including Saturdays, Sundays, some holidays and during inclement weather. Assistant Store Manager's hours may occur outside normal business hours, such as truck delivery or inventory days.
Minimum Qualifications :
Knowledge of the principles and practices of a retail-related operationExperience supervising multiple levels of employees within a retail-related environmentExperience providing excellent direct customer service, making decisions, and problem-solvingExperience performing cash accounting and inventory / category management tasksRetail management experience including experience running shiftsKnowledge and experience utilizing personal computers and electronic point of sale (POS) systemsExperience working with general software (Microsoft Word and Excel) and retail-related softwareWorking experience in staffing and hiring practices including screening, interviewing and selectionThe ability to work independentlyThe ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityThe ability to handle stressful situationsThe ability to multi-task, utilize time management and organizational skillsExperience working and responding to inquiries with internal and external customers both in person and on the phoneThe ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of ABC, both orally and in writingMust be able to lift up to 65 poundsMust be at least 21 years of agePreferred Qualifications :
