Occupational Therapist – Elementary School-based

Location : District 144 Markham, IL

Job Type : Full-Time / Part-Time

School Year : 2025-2026

Reports To : UnJaded’s Director of Clinical Operations

Job Summary : We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Occupational Therapist to join our student support team in an elementary school setting. The Occupational Therapist will assess students’ functional skills and provide therapy to improve fine motor, sensory-motor, and adaptive skills necessary for successful participation in the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations of students referred for occupational therapy services.

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and goals based on student needs.

Provide direct and consultative services to students in school settings

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.

Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring.

Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports.

Train and support staff on strategies for classroom accommodations and fine motor / sensory needs.

Stay current with best practices, continuing education, and legal requirements in school-based occupational therapy.

Qualifications :

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Valid state license to practice Occupational Therapy in Illinois.

NBCOT certification required based on the state of Illinois.

Experience in a school setting is preferred, especially with elementary-aged students, however not required.

Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and special education laws and procedures.

Working Conditions :

School-based environment (elementary school PreK- 8th grade).

May involve travel between school sites (if applicable).

Work hours aligned with the school schedule.

Salary and Benefits :

9 month position with summer school as an option at full rate

No benefits are available at this time as its a 1099 position
