Job Summary
The Personal Care Services Aide is a person who provides support, assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for an individual to be able to remain in their own home.
Specific Job Duties / Responsibilities
May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including peri care and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet.Reports observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts managerDrives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required.Assists with household tasks directly essential to clients' personal care.Six months experience in home care preferred.Successful completion of a competency evaluationIf assigned to provide care under a Medicare Certified Provider, the aide must meet the Home Health Aide qualifications for training and competency as required by the Medicare Conditions of Participation and their state of practice.Access to public transportation OR dependable vehicle with a current driver's license and vehicle insurance.CPR certification as required.State Specific Requirements
NC : For in-home aides not listed on the nurse aide registry, must have verification of core competencies by a registered nurse.Skill Requirements
