Summary :

  • The Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting the General Manager by overseeing daily operations, training, and developing hourly employees.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring effective use of company training systems, maintaining compliance with policies, and fostering a positive work environment.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Devote at least four hours per week to one-on-one training of hourly employees through teachable moments, demonstrations, and questioning.
  • Ensure proper use of and compliance with company training systems and materials.
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new employees.
  • Conduct timely formal and informal evaluations of employee performance and progress.
  • Recommend and administer pay increases.

    • Apply progressive discipline fairly and consistently, including terminations when necessary.

  • Assist in leading employee meetings as needed.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Be capable of fulfilling and meeting all food cost, scheduling, and payroll tasks and standards (once trained on and assigned these tasks).
  • Expedite necessary repairs and / or maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and furnishing within and around the shop.
  • Follow written and verbal direction promptly.
  • Qualifications & Experience Proven leadership and managerial experience.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate employees.
  • Effective collaborator with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
