TenCate Grass , a global leader in the manufacturing and installation of high-performance synthetic turf systems, is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to expand our market presence throughout California’s Central Valley and portions of Nevada .

This role focuses on developing new business and driving growth by offering premier synthetic turf, running track, and sports surface solutions.

Please note : This role requires extensive travel throughout the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel approximately 75% of the time to develop and grow new business within the assigned region (average 3–5 days on the road; company vehicle and gas card provided)
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue leads aligned with company sales strategy
  • Plan and conduct sales calls, site visits, and client presentations
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve territory growth goals
  • Communicate value propositions and ROI to prospective clients to close new business
  • Provide accurate weekly forecasting, including deal values, key contacts, and steps to close
  • Maintain strong communication with Sales Management regarding performance, market conditions, and competitive activity
  • Serve as the liaison between clients and internal departments including Marketing, Sales Operations, and Project Management
  • Attend company meetings, training sessions, tradeshows, and promotional events
  • Maintain a strong understanding of TenCate product lines and competitive differentiators
  • Analyze market trends to assess competitive landscape and identify opportunities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proven success in prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business - preferably in construction, sports, or landscaping industries
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach

  • Base salary plus uncapped commission potential

  • This is a base-plus-commission position. Base salary will be determined by experience and market knowledge. Comprehensive onboarding and sales training are provided.
