About The Position

Job Title : Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Days

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (6 : 45 AM - 3 : 00 PM)

Experience : Minimum of 2 years preferred

License : Registered Nurse License

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BCLS) required

Must-Have : Wound Care Certification

Description :

The Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse establishes satisfactory interpersonal relationships with co-workers, colleagues, patients, families, and significant others.

The nurse initiates communication with patients and families to determine individual needs.

They communicate with co-workers and colleagues in other disciplines and departments to share and exchange ideas and information about related activities and needs.

Detailed patient education is provided to patients and family members during the inpatient stay and at the time of discharge following prescribed teaching plans.

The nurse responds effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to communications from patients, families, significant others, and other healthcare professionals.

Ethical decisions and actions on behalf of patients are a priority for the Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse.

Sensitivity to the values of oneself and others is demonstrated.

Patient and family involvement in the plan of care is prioritized, incorporating their cultural, spiritual, and belief systems.

The ideal candidate possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending.

Some repetitive motions may be required.

Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising patient care.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

The ability to prioritize and problem-solve is essential.

Collaboration with the healthcare team is a key requirement of the role.
