- Working with structural engineer of record to develop structural design solutions for portions of buildings and structures integrating project objectives and design criteria
- Prepare and interpret drawings, plans, and details
- Deliver complete and accurate structural designs and prepare structural drawings and details on time and within design budget
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to deliver assignments within prescribed budgetary and time constraints
- Check work of others as assigned
- Interact and communicate effectively with design team members
- Prepare basic design of structural steel, concrete, and masonry and wood components and framing systems
- Design intermediate-level professional work
- Perform a variety of technical tasks that provide experience and familiarization with engineering procedures and scientific methods, practices, standards and company programs
- Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
- Lead the design of smaller projects under supervision of Project Manager
- May be assigned external communications with consultants and / or clients
- Field work including structural and foundation inspections
Requirements
