Role : Clinical Laboratory Specialist
Duration : 6 months
Location : 201 Carlson Circle, San Marcos, TX
What You’ll Do
Perform routine, moderate, and high-complexity molecular and serologic testing on patient and manufacturing samples.
Accession and track clinical samples using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab instruments and reagents.
Ensure proper documentation of results, validations, and reports in compliance with CLIA, GMP, and SOPs.
Participate in method validations, feasibility studies, and equipment calibrations.
Support internal audits by documenting deviations and corrective actions using MediaLab.
Assist in training new team members and assessing their technical competencies.
Track and summarize quality control (QC) and performance metrics using Microsoft tools.
Maintain continuing education (CE) credits aligned with laboratory competencies.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
Completion of at least 16 semester hours of graduate-level coursework in relevant lab sciences (per 2025 CLIA high-complexity testing requirements).
Ability to communicate clearly, analyze data, and follow technical SOPs.
0–12 months of lab experience (clinical, academic, or research).
Certification such as CLS (ASCP) or equivalent is a plus.
Familiarity with NAT testing, immunohematology, and lab information systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with MediaLab.
