IR Tech Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience working in an interventional radiology or neurology setting is required
  • Familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and procedures.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in operating neuroimaging equipment, including angiography systems and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) equipment. Familiarity with image analysis software.
  • Knowledge : Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurovascular diseases. Familiarity with interventional neurology procedures, including endovascular thrombectomy, embolization, and stenting.
  • Attention to Detail : Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when analyzing and documenting imaging data and procedure details.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex concepts to patients and their families in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Teamwork : Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability : Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances during procedures.

    Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interventionalists and other healthcare professionals in performing various complex interventional procedures, including but not limited to aneurysm coiling, arteriovenous malformation (AVM) embolization, carotid artery stenting, intracranial stenting, and intracranial thrombectomy. Assists physicians, according to OR standards of practice. Responsible for maintenance of sterile field, proper set-up, and handling and maintenance of equipment and injection of contrast media. Provides basic and advanced life support according to AHA standards under direct supervision of physician or according to protocol. This includes cardioversion and defibrillation, starting intravenous lines, CPR, and airway support.
  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients undergoing complex interventional procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the process. Monitor patients closely during procedures and respond to any emergent situations effectively.
  • Utilize advanced imaging techniques, including three-dimensional rotational angiography, cone-beam CT, and perfusion imaging, to capture detailed images of the brain and blood vessels. Interpret images accurately and assist with treatment planning.
  • Operate advanced navigation systems, such as electromagnetic and infrared-based systems, to guide catheter and device placement during procedures, ensuring optimal accuracy and patient safety
  • Handle a wide range of interventional devices, including microcatheters, guidewires, stents, and embolic agents, with precision and dexterity. Assist with device selection and preparation for procedures
