- Job Description :
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Required)
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in long-term care.
- Good physical and mental health is required.
- Capable of meeting physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Possess training, knowledge, and experience for general responsibilities.
- REPORTING :
- The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant reports to the Rehabilitation Director.
- JOB DUTIES :
- Fundamental understanding of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Administer treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities, providing residents with exercises.
- Follow treatment plans as directed by the staff Occupational Therapist, adhering to physical medicine practice standards.
- Evaluate treatment effects, and communicate findings with staff and Occupational Therapist.
- Monitor and document resident treatment and progress.
- Assist in developing a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, assess learning effectiveness, involve family in teaching, and update staff and Occupational Therapists on outcomes.
