We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Amherst, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities :
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate entries and adherence to month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries to support the timely completion of financial closings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct cost analysis to evaluate manufacturing expenses, variances, and pricing strategies to support decision-making.
- Analyze and summarize financial data to meet monthly and annual reporting deadlines.
- Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect company assets and maintain accurate financial data.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting processes.
- Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles and practices.
