We are seeking a reliable and adaptable team member for a part-time hybrid role that combines clinical and administrative responsibilities in our ophthalmology practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both patient care and front office operations. The role is part-time, 27-29 hours per week across 4 days, offering a balanced schedule in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical (Ophthalmic Technician) Duties :
Prepare patients for exams by taking medical histories and performing preliminary testing (e.g., visual acuity, tonometry, OCT, visual fields)
Assist the ophthalmologist during exams and minor procedures
Administer eye drops and dilation agents as directed
Maintain exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment
Accurately document clinical findings in the EMR
Educate patients on post-visit care and procedures
Administrative (Front Office) Duties :
Greet and check in / out patients with professionalism and warmth
Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
Verify insurance and collect co-pays
Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and medical records requests
