Pre-Authorization Specialist

A company is looking for a Pre-Authorization Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze information required to complete pre-authorizations based on insurance / payer requirements

Utilize third-party payer / insurance portals to process pre-auth submissions and document results

Communicate pre-authorization approvals or denials to leadership, providers, and nurses

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

Experience with insurance providers and their authorization processes

Proficiency in using Epic for documentation of pre-authorization information

Ability to advocate for patients and providers in a time-sensitive manner

Knowledge of clinical information required for pre-authorization submissions

Experience in identifying trends and challenges related to pre-authorizations
