Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to create, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation for our cutting-edge space systems, technologies, and mission operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and program managers to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly materials for internal teams, customers, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities Develop and maintain technical documentation, including engineering specifications, test procedures, operations manuals, and product guides for space processing systems, radios and optical components.

Work closely with engineering, business development, and program teams to gather technical data and ensure content accuracy.

Write and edit documents to meet NASA, FAA, DoD, and international space industry standards (as applicable).

Create illustrations and diagrams in collaboration with CAD and design teams.

Organize and manage document control systems to ensure version accuracy, configuration management, and compliance with internal and customer requirements.

Review and edit engineering reports, proposals, and white papers for clarity and consistency.

Support proposal development by preparing technical sections for government and commercial contracts.

Ensure documentation aligns with ITAR / EAR export compliance and company confidentiality policies.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Aerospace, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3–5 years of experience in technical writing for aerospace, defense, or other highly technical industries.

Strong ability to understand and communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (e.g., Windchill, SharePoint, Confluence).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar, formatting, and details.

Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with space systems and satellite technology.

Experience with DITA / XML, LaTeX, or structured authoring tools.

Knowledge of NASA, DoD, or ESA documentation standards and export control regulations (ITAR / EAR).

Basic understanding of CAD drawings or engineering schematics.

Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

High attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free, compliant documentation.

Salary Range : $70,000 to $95,000
