The Analyst / Sr Analyst, Cybersecurity Risk is part of the Technology Division. This role plays a critical role in protecting American Airlines' digital ecosystem by identifying and managing cybersecurity risks. You will help shape the airline's cybersecurity strategy by analyzing internal and third-party risks.
What you'll do
Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments across internal systems and third-party vendors
Support and enhance the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program, including vendor onboarding and continuous monitoring
Analyze cybersecurity risks and provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization
Collaborate with teams in IT, Legal, Procurement, and Business Units to ensure risk awareness and mitigation
Maintain risk registers and support the development of risk metrics and dashboards
Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity risk policies, standards, and procedures
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field
3 years of experience in cybersecurity risk analysis, third-party risk management, or IT audit
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Master's degree or professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or CISM
Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow GRC)
Knowledge of cloud security, data privacy regulations, and emerging cybersecurity threats
Experience in the airline, transportation, or other regulated industries
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and risk management tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to translate technical cybersecurity risks into business impacts
Project management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
