Overview
Wafer Process Engineer role at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) in Goleta, CA. The position is onsite and involves working in a cleanroom environment to support focal plane array manufacturing processes in production and development products. The department provides semiconductor and focal plane array manufacturing processes and seeks a Principal Process Wafer Engineer with a background in semiconductor fabrication including photolithography processing, annealing, thin film deposition, and metrology.
What You Will Do
- Managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements
- Reviewing material in WIP, certifying operators, dispositioning out of flow material, and hands-on processing of novel detector designs
- Providing Process Ownership of vacuum coating tools, etch tools, or lithography tools
- Developing requirements and qualification plans for new equipment procurements
- Work in a cleanroom environment with full coverall garments
- Expert experience with wet etch, metal-lift off, lithography, plasma cleaning, and associated semiconductor process equipment
- Maintain statistical process controls for process optimization; troubleshoot and resolve issues supporting the manufacturing process and improve work center process yields
- Research new suppliers and technologies for improving production, quality, end cost and throughput
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experienceExperience in Process or Manufacturing Engineering in an Optics, Electro-Optics and / or Microelectronics environmentQualifications We Prefer
Experience with principles of infrared semiconductor fabrication technologiesExperience with infrared detector technology and semiconductor physicsProject management experienceKnowledge of statistical process control and design of experimentsEquipment and controls system experienceExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with a cleanroom work environment (Class 100)Proficiency in engineering computing, including MATLAB, Python or other related languageWhat We Offer
