Precision manufacturing — industrial tooling and metal fabrication supporting aerospace, automotive, and industrial OEMs. This on-site role sits within a high-volume, quality-driven production environment focused on producing, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for production lines.
Position : Toolmaker (Tool Die Maker) — On-site, United States
Role Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble, and repair production tooling and dies from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions using manual and CNC equipment.
- Operate CNC mills / lathes, EDM (wire sinker), grinders, and toolroom equipment to achieve specified tolerances and finish requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD T to set up work, select tooling, and verify dimensions throughout the build process.
- Perform precision inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and CMM data to ensure parts meet QA standards; document inspection results.
- Build and adjust jigs, fixtures, and guide plates; collaborate with production and engineering to troubleshoot stamping, injection molding, or machining issues.
- Maintain tooling inventory, perform preventive maintenance, and recommend repair or rework to minimize downtime and extend tool life.
Skills Qualifications
Must-Have
3+ years hands-on toolmaking, tool die, or precision machining experience in a production / toolroom environment.Proven ability with manual machining and at least one of : CNC milling / turning or EDM operation.Strong blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of GD T.Skill with precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, height gauge, dial indicator); basic CMM interaction preferred.Practical experience building / repairing jigs, fixtures, dies, or molds and performing root-cause troubleshooting on tooling issues.Reliable on-site availability, strong safety mindset, and commitment to quality and documentation.Preferred
Formal apprenticeship, trade school certificate, or technical degree in Tool Die / Precision Machining.Experience with CAM / CAD software for simple program review or modification.Familiarity with CMM programming, preventive maintenance scheduling, and lean / manufacturing continuous improvement practices.Benefits Culture Highlights
