About The Position

Job Title : LDRP RN

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced Preferred), STABLE

Must-Have :

  • 3 years of experience in LDRP
  • Ability to titrate drips
  • Comfortable with first-time travelers

Description :

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in Labor and Delivery.

This position is for a unit with 7 Labor and Delivery beds and 12 Postpartum beds, with a dedicated C-Section OR.

Triage experience is preferred as there are three triage beds with an average of 17 patients per month.

The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios : 1 : 1-2 in L&D and 1 : 2-3 in Postpartum couplets.

Common patient diagnoses include obstetric cases, antepartum, and high-risk situations such as gestational hypertension and diabetes.

Nurses are expected to manage postpartum vaginal and C-section deliveries, hysterectomies, and related surgical procedures.

Nurses must be able to titrate medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate and handle other medications commonly used in the unit.

There is a Charge Nurse on every shift who takes an assignment and participates in deliveries.

The unit has OB and Neonatology providers on call 24 / 7.

Anesthesia services are also available around the clock.

The use of remote telemetry is minimal, and nurses are expected to read telemetry during Phase 1 recovery for C-sections.

Staff must coordinate schedules effectively, as they are planned six weeks in advance.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent patient satisfaction and teamwork within the department.

Floating to Pediatrics, NICU, Med / Surg, PCU, and Psych units may be required.

Duties may include troubleshooting RT equipment and reading telemetry strips as necessary.

Surgical scrubs are provided for this role.

Nurse aides and surgical techs are available to assist with various duties throughout the unit.
