About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Experience : Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience preferred

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP

Must-Have : EFM interpretation and intervention skills, adult and neonatal assessment skills

Description :

Straight nights with every other weekend.

Blocked scheduling may be accommodated, allowing for 6 on 8 off.

The unit has 8 beds.

Travelers must reside more than 100 miles away from the facility.

First-time travelers are welcome with Labor and Delivery experience.

Patient types include laboring patients, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, and infants under 28 days old.

A Level 2A nursery will care for sick babies.

Preferred experience in gyn-surgicals or mastectomy post-op if not comfortable; staff can assist with these cases.

Patient ratios : Laboring patients 1 : 2, Couplets 1 : 3-4.

There is no CNA support specific to Labor and Delivery; on-call staff are available 24 / 7.

A charge nurse covers all units within the hospital.

Laboratory services are available 24 / 7.

There is no IV / VAT team.

Centralized fetal monitoring is not available.

Primary nursing with support from a manager or charge nurse is standard.

RT services are available throughout the facility.

Hospitalist services are in-house (medical / surgical).

Charting is conducted using Epic.

Floating may occur to med / surg units as needed within the scope of practice.

Weekend rotation consists of every other weekend.

On-call duties will be based on census and rotation.

Holiday expectations involve working 3 scheduled holidays and 1 on-call.

Requests for time off must be made before the next schedule is posted, and 2 request opportunities are provided each year.

Scrub color provided by the hospital.
