Introduction
We are seeking a skilled Materials Engineer for a temporary assignment to support ongoing projects in materials science and engineering. This role is ideal for an independent contractor or temporary worker and is not a full-time employment opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards in the development and application of materials for optical components.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
- Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in materials research, development, and testing
- Able to work in a chemical laboratory or cleanroom environment, and operate tools for conducting experiments and collecting metrology data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Authorization to work in the United States

Lead research and development efforts in materials and interfaces, with a focus on innovative solutions for inkjet printing of ophthalmic lensesAnalyze, test, and characterize materials to ensure alignment with project specifications and quality standardsCollaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to facilitate the integration of new materials into existing processesPrepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholdersCompany Benefits & Culture
