The Daily Wire is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) to design and build the core services powering our media and platform infrastructure. In this role, youll work with technologies like Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, and Docker to develop scalable, high-performance systems that support ad tech integrations, payments, and platform growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who excels at solving complex distributed-systems challenges, collaborating across teams, and delivering reliable, high-impact solutions that drive business performance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Go (Golang).
• Build and evolve distributed systems that power monetization and personalization features.
• Design APIs and data models that support content delivery, user activity, and ad infrastructure.
• Develop reliable data and caching layers using PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS cloud services.
• Collaborate with platform and data teams to ensure performance, reliability, and observability.
• Optimize backend systems for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to maintain high-quality, maintainable systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement strategies to improve resilience.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging backend technologies, recommending improvements to existing systems and processes.
