Sr. Electrical Engineer (PE or EIT) – Healthcare Design

Our client is a rapidly growing engineering firm focused on high-impact healthcare projects. They are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer who wants to take ownership of complex designs, collaborate across disciplines, and grow into a future leader within the company. Position Overview
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will lead electrical and low-voltage design for healthcare environments including hospitals, outpatient centers, and surgical facilities. The role includes driving technical excellence across projects while mentoring junior team members and raising internal design standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for healthcare facilities (hospital, ASC, outpatient, clinic, medical office)
- Design and review power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, and low-voltage systems
- Collaborate with architects, MEP disciplines, and project managers to deliver clean, code-compliant designs
- Produce and review drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Apply NEC, NFPA, life safety, energy codes, and healthcare electrical standards
- Support QA, design reviews, and coordination meetings
- Mentor junior staff and influence internal standards, workflows, and best practices
- Engage in client-facing discussions and provide technical leadership on projects
Must-Have Qualifications
6–20 years of experience in electrical engineering (client is firm on range)Healthcare design experience is required (multiple hospital or ASC projects in the past 2–3 years)Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and relevant healthcare facility codesProficiency with Revit / AutoCAD and electrical design toolsExcellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsLicensing Requirements
PE license preferredEIT considered for candidates who are on a clear path to PE and meet the experience and healthcare requirementsPreferred Qualifications
