Shift : Weekend Nights

Position Responsibilities :

• The Charge Nurse accepts the responsibility and accountability for the entire unit during a designated shift and the evaluation and treatment of the populations.
• He / she is responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies.
• Will provide direct patient care when necessary.
• Reports to Med / Surg Director.
• Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director)
• Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor)
• Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift
• Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources
