Job Responsibilities

Position Functions and Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate pool schedule in conjunction with schedules of classrooms and other therapies
• Transport patients to and from classrooms for the purpose of receiving therapy
• Record and maintain daily statistical logs for pool and modalities
• Assist patient in donning and doffing of swimwear incorporating therapeutic dressing techniques prior to and after aquatic session including assistance with showering
• Assist therapist during treatment in the pool under the direct supervision and instruction of registered occupational, physical therapist, or speech therapist when requested.
• Assist therapist in the pool as required and instructed
• Perform maintenance and upkeep of the pool area including :
• Disinfect pool toys on a daily basis
• Rinse bathing suits after every use on a daily basis
• Place towels in designated areas (clean and dirty) after use
• Maintain a supply list for the pool area and complete purchase requisitions as directed by the Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy to maintain par levels of supplies
• Perform other responsibilities in the physical, speech and occupational therapy departments as assigned when not engaged in aquatic therapy program duties such as :
• Assist supervising physical, speech and occupational therapist in treatment of patients in the therapy gym
• Participate in scheduled in-service training programs and weekly meetings
• Sanitize toys, treatment equipment and / or modality equipment as assigned
• Perform clerical for the Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy departments as needed
• Comply with established policies and procedures re : quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, confidentiality of patient information, customer service, attendance, punctuality, dress code, professional conduct, annual health assessments etc.
