Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate pool schedule in conjunction with schedules of classrooms and other therapies
- Transport patients to and from classrooms for the purpose of receiving therapy
- Record and maintain daily statistical logs for pool and modalities
- Assist patient in donning and doffing of swimwear incorporating therapeutic dressing techniques prior to and after aquatic session including assistance with showering
- Assist therapist during treatment in the pool under the direct supervision and instruction of registered occupational, physical therapist, or speech therapist when requested.
- Assist therapist in the pool as required and instructed
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of the pool area including :
- Disinfect pool toys on a daily basis
- Rinse bathing suits after every use on a daily basis
- Place towels in designated areas (clean and dirty) after use
- Maintain a supply list for the pool area and complete purchase requisitions as directed by the Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy to maintain par levels of supplies
- Perform other responsibilities in the physical, speech and occupational therapy departments as assigned when not engaged in aquatic therapy program duties such as :
- Assist supervising physical, speech and occupational therapist in treatment of patients in the therapy gym
- Participate in scheduled in-service training programs and weekly meetings
- Sanitize toys, treatment equipment and / or modality equipment as assigned
- Perform clerical for the Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy departments as needed
- Comply with established policies and procedures re : quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, confidentiality of patient information, customer service, attendance, punctuality, dress code, professional conduct, annual health assessments etc.
Job Qualifications
Educational & License Requirements :
High School Diploma Required. Training and / or academic credit in the field of biological sciences and child development. Must maintain current CPR certification.Experience
Experience in clinical pediatric environmentHourly Rate : $21.65 / Hr.
