Job Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for the development of technical scope and delivery of formal proposals for comprehensive energy projects, which includes the coordination of the activities of multiple external and internal team members. Applicant must have strong communications skills and be results-focused.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works with Sales Team to develop multiple relationships with buying influencers in the customer's organization, including facility managers, project managers, project engineers, construction, and purchasing.
- Gather and document key project site energy performance information, including utility data and facility infrastructure drawings.
- Gather and interpret all necessary background information unique to each project.
- Coordinate and carry out building walkthroughs / surveys with appropriate parties.
- Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customer's facility requirements.
- Assist in identifying any Energy Conservation Measure opportunities that exist in the building; implement only those ECM's that fit best into the payback / budget specified by the customer.
- Manages internal and external engineering / project management resources through job development.
- Perform detailed engineering assessment including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysis.
- Perform (or manage team members / partners once delegated) the engineering, energy modeling, scope development, and estimating responsibilities for those ECM's to be implemented.
- Review and verify the accuracy of all conceptual and detailed engineering design and bid documents.
- Develops and produces proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, and presentations.
- Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary scope and / or budget proposal with assistance from project sales team.
- Schedules and conducts LOA presentations with STES and Trane Leadership.
- Assists Sales(s) in presenting the proposals to the customer.
- Identify accessible regional / federal loan and financing programs to assist in project funding; submit to the programs and attain relevant funds. Serve as the liaison and main point of contact for all associates at the various energy programs to ensure for smooth turnover and project transition.
- Schedule and attend turnover meeting to review / interpret fully developed projects with fulfillment team.
- Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Turnover Meeting.
- Minimize risk by developing sound monitoring and / or service plan requirements.
- Develop and manage processes to streamline project development activities.
- Incorporates compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.
- Leads development of final project pricing and pricing breakdowns by Energy Conservation Measure (ECM).
- Supports successful project implementation phase such that the project meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, or Energy, or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of two to four (2-4) years of engineering or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience equating to six (6) years or more.General HVAC knowledge (systems, equipment, installation, service)General knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systemsGeneral knowledge of the building construction industry to include the concepts of new construction, renovation / retrofit; performance contracting, and service project management.Financial budgeting, planning, administration, conflict resolution, and negotiation experience are required.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsPrefer experience and knowledge in using Project Management Tools (Microsoft Project)CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
