The Project Engineer works collaboratively with various departments (operations, water, hydro, etc.) to ensure design, operation, control, and production optimization are achieved throughout the engineering process. The Project Engineer will manage the entire life cycle of various projects deemed organizationally necessary for the manufacturing plants.

Examples of Duties

• All planning and design aspects of a project, including preparation and development of alternative analyses, reports, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and permit applications.
• Preparation of detailed designs for both new installations and rehabilitation of existing water / wastewater collection / distribution / transmission systems, pump stations, and treatment plants.
• Leadership of junior engineers and small design teams.
• Coordinate and work with various disciplines and sub-consultants handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
• Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions.
• Assistance in business development efforts and proposal preparation.
• Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, etc.
• Keeps abreast of changes in the field by attending client meetings, etc.
• Tracking and reporting of contract costs against detailed contract budgets; preparing cost reports and schedules for project manager and management.
• Review and understand project cost estimates.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets and reporting of the key performance indicators for the project.
• Provide continuous project reporting with accurate and timely information that includes budget, commitments, forecast, variances, change management, progress, risk & opportunity, contingency, cash flow, and resource planning.
• Support accounts receivable as required during the billing processing. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting, and Procurement to resolve issues promptly.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience :

Requirements : Master's degree

Education : Degree major must be in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another similar discipline.

Thorough knowledge of wastewater treatment practices, methods, and related equipment, including water testing equipment and safety precautions.
