Extra High Voltage Overhead Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians
- Manage diverse and challenging projects across our portfolio of design services and EPC programs
- Oversee design quality, budget, and schedule
- Support client interaction, proposals, and business development
- Develop and manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines for assigned projects
- Actively manage project changes directly with the Client in coordination with the Project Manager
- Review lower level engineering work, coordinate multi-discipline activities, and may serve as engineer of record for assigned projects
- Foster good working relationships with project leadership, design teams, and support staff
- Communicate client interests to the project team and address concerns in project execution
- Travel occasionally to support site visits, design reviews, and client meetings
- Ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality program and client / industry standards
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited programMinimum 11 years related work experienceAbility to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR, as applicable)Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) or design services overhead transmission line projects for investor-owned utilities in the United States11 years of design experience for high voltage overhead transmission lines; knowledge of PLS-CADD, line routing, structural loading, foundation design, and project lifecycleStrong communication skills and ability to engage with clients to grow relationshipsAdvanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standardsWorking knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination (procurement, subcontract administration, permitting, real estate / land acquisition, construction support)Working knowledge of the proposal process and engineering estimatesProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license highly preferredWork Environment
