Privacy Senior Counsel

Role & Responsibilities

Client is looking for an experienced, highly organized, detail-oriented attorney to support Client's businesses on privacy and data security compliance matters, for a temporary (4-5 months) fulltime position. The position will be on site in the NYC office of Client Ads.
The role will report to the Head of Privacy and will work in an ongoing and collaborative way with the Client Ads business in carrying out its responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role must have deep substantive knowledge of adtech transactions and US privacy issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Support the Client Ads business on privacy issues in connection with the development of products, platforms, services, and other initiatives involving the collection and use of consumer data;
Work closely with product and business development teams regarding product development and conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and to negotiate data privacy terms in commercial agreements.

Minimum Qualifications :

Law Degree and member of the US state bar in good standing;

4+ years total legal work experience, with at least three years working on data privacy matters;

Comprehensive understanding of U.S. data privacy laws (e.g., CPRA, COPPA, VPPA, TCPA etc.)

Strong transactional background, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions and counseling clients with respect to privacy and information security issues; and

Demonstrated analytical experience, including experience assessing risk from a privacy and data protection perspective

Ability to multitask and to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications :

Privacy certifications such as CIPP-US, CIPM

Experience with Children's Data Privacy , or Health data.
