Title : Material Handler

Location : Round Lake, Illinois

Details : 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role

Pay Rate : $26.35 / hr. under training, with rate increase after training completion

Job Summary

This position receives, locates, and issues raw materials as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). It is also responsible for locating, moving, pulling, packing, and loading of frozen products.

  • Will train on 1st and then transition to 2nd shift
  • This is a 12-hour shift, working 3 or 4 days per week
  • Pay Rate : $26.35 / hr. (will change when move to 2nd)

Responsibilities

  • Operate warehouse equipment (box lifter, truck, reefer, bailer, etc.)
  • Interpret procedures and solve problems
  • Use computers for inventory and documentation
  • Drive trucks (forklift, walkie rider, straight truck, tractor trailer on site)
  • Unload trucks, receive, locate, pick, release, process P.O.s and packing slips, deliver production and MRO items
  • Maintain and repair warehouse equipment
  • Perform monthly inventory cycle counts
  • Handle facility requests (e.g., move furniture, deliver supplies) and light building maintenance (e.g., painting)
  • Locate, transport, and build finished goods loads for shipment
  • Drop batches for retentions and move inventory from unreleased to released
  • Maintain attendance per RLD Attendance Policy
  • Contribute with overtime when required

    • Years of Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment preferred

    • Skills Required

  • Ability to work independently
  • Troubleshoot label and directional insert dispensing equipment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of SOPs, specifications, and job-specific training materials
  • English language proficiency (read, write, speak, understand)
  • Basic math skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making based on SOPs
  • Valid driver’s license and forklift license
  • Willingness to obtain Class C license

    • Work Environment

  • Frozen environment (-15°F) up to five hours / day
  • Remaining time in fluctuating temperatures (40°F to 105°F)

    • Physical Demands

  • No allergies to Penicillin or Cephalosporin drugs
  • Visual acuity : 20 / 40 near vision (with or without correction)
  • Frequent lifting up to 70 lbs; occasional lifting over 100 lbs
  • Constant bending, twisting, reaching, grasping
  • Frequent kneeling, squatting, wrist turning
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, pinching
  • Hearing requirement : at least 25 dB
