Adecco Permanent Recruitment is hiring for a top manufacturing client for a Material Planning & Logistics Manager in Union SC.
The MP&L Manager oversees all aspects of material flow and customer service, including material planning, production scheduling, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and logistics operations. This role provides leadership and direction to the MP&L team, driving operational excellence and alignment with plant and regional objectives.
This role will develop local MP&L strategy, optimize processes and systems for cost efficiency and delivery reliability, and implement lean logistics principles. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader skilled in process improvement, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all MP&L functions : customer service, material planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with IATF standards and support efficient material flow.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, control systems, and corrective actions.
- Analyze customer demand and support S&OP planning with accurate short- and mid-term forecasts.
- Create and monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and schedule adherence.
- Ensure vendor releases are accurate and align with inventory and cost objectives.
- Drive improvements in material handling, storage systems, and in-plant logistics.
- Implement and optimize ERP (SAP) systems for data accuracy and process control.
- Manage all logistics aspects of new product launches and engineering changes.
- Maintain and update customer portals and ensure compliance with logistics standards.
- Monitor delivery performance and address customer concerns promptly.
- Oversee service parts orders and ensure fulfillment accuracy.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, material flow, etc.).
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).7+ years of experience in supply chain, materials management, or production planning3+ years in management.Proven leadership in managing both exempt and non-exempt MP&L teams.Strong background in Lean Manufacturing (JIT, Pull Systems, Standardized Work, etc.).APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.ERP (SAP / MRP) experience required; implementation experience a plus.Automotive manufacturing experience (stamping, welding, painting) strongly preferred.Familiarity with OEM and automotive standards (AIAG, VDA, MMOG / LE, Odette).Experience working with BMW portals, etc is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to
