We are seeking Chef de Partie and Commis to join Forbes Four Star restaurant, Restaurant Le B. in the historic Greenwich Village. Helmed by Chef / Restaurateur Angie Mar, the kitchen’s focus is in Continental Cuisine for the modern diner. Classic French technique, married with Chinese and Japanese ingredients, the cuisine celebrates the classic French dishes, while reimagining them and showcasing modernity.
Responsibilities :
- Working the stations in the kitchen to prepare food items
- Accurately handling food items to minimize waste
- Ability to learn, understand, and to execute recipes and menus
- Preparing mise en place for daily service
- Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
- Demonstrating a passion for details and a willingness to learn
- Upholding service preparation and culinary standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
- Maintaining and upholding our company's vision and values
- Participating in service / culinary education sessions
- Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
Qualifications :
1-3 year culinary experience in a fine dining restaurantCulinary school education preferredStrong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and knife handlingDemonstrate clear written and verbal communication skillsAble to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and directionCapability to stand for prolonged periods of timeLift up to 50 pounds of weightAbility to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, carry multiple objectsAbility to work in an environment with hot and cold conditionsPlease submit a cover letter and resume.
