Responsibilities :

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
• Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling while maintaining accurate records of cancellations or missed appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and gather required information to support billing processes.
• Input and maintain precise patient data within electronic medical record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Handle billing tasks by collecting copays, managing forms, and ensuring accurate account reconciliation.
• Respond to inbound calls, addressing patient inquiries and redirecting them to appropriate departments.
• Assist with patient check-ins, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
• Support administrative tasks, including maintaining charts, graphs, and other patient-related records.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Uphold confidentiality and compliance with medical regulations in all interactions.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional training in medical terminology or office administration preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with software such as Allscripts, Dentrix Dental Software, Eaglesoft, and EHR systems.
• Experience handling billing functions and managing patient accounts.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
• Certifications such as Certified Coder or experience with Registered Health Information Technician are a plus but not mandatory.
